Build Your Email List

4. TRUST – The Money Is In Your Relationship With Your List

You may have read that the money is in the list, but that’s not strictly true. The money is in your relationship with your list.

So it’s essential to do two things in order to form the basis of your online money generation system.

First, start building a list of relevant prospects who are interested in the products and services that you provide as soon as possible.

Do it today! Not tomorrow or next week, but now. Setup an account with AWEBER, put a signup form on your site and start collecting email addresses.

Second, continue to build a relationship with the people on your list from the moment they signup. The more they trust you and the information that you provide, the more likely they are to buy from you or follow your recommendations.

Send them quality content on a regular basis and encourage them to interact. Exceed their expectations, do this consistently over time and your list will become your most valuable business asset.

5. EXECUTE – Speed Is Vital

It’s an overused phrase, but the modern world is a fast moving place. And when you consider the internet, you can multiply that by a factor of 5 or even 10.

If you take too long to do anything online, you’ll get left behind as the tools, technology and techniques move on.

So speed of execution is absolutely vital to the success of your online business.

But due to the sheer amount of information available online, it’s eassy to suffer from information overload, causing indecision and ultimately delay.

So focus on what you want to achieve, create a coherent plan and stick to it. Every evening plan 3 items that you want to achieve the next day, then set aside short chunks of uninterrupted time to complete your tasks.

Then, as you work through them, keep reminding yourself that speed is vital. And with that in mind, it’s also essential to avoid the online marketing traps contained in the next two entries.

6. SYSTEMIZE – Document Recurring Activities

Everything that you do as part of your business can be divided into one of two groups. It’s either something that will be done once, or something that will be done more than once.

If something will have to be done more than once, for example creating an online video to promote your business, it makes sense to systemize the process.

Creating a system will help your to complete the task more efficiently to a uniform standard. Once the system is documented, it will make it easier to outsource in the future, which will allow your business to grow rapidly.

7. OUTSOURCE – Don’t Attempt To Be An Expert At Everything

It’s impossible to be an expert at graphics, video, audio, seo, marketing, writing, programming. That’s obvious, but it doesn’t stop people from trying to do everything themselves. Initially it grows out of necessity when they don’t have the funds to employ other people, but it’s easy to get caught in this trap over the long term.

So if you want to become successful online it’s essential to break this mindset. Identify the tasks that you are best at, and which are responsible for the greatest part of success in your business, then focus on them exclusively.

For example, if you’re an expert at making videos, focus all your efforts on that aspect of your business and use your profits to hire people who can look after the other aspects of your business.

Using this division of labour principle will transform the business results that you achieve.
